hi.

im was crusing the forum and found some shaders.. but most of them dosent work..
so i came up with 2 ideas.

1. stock shaders provided by TGC , can be with community contribution or testing.. the idea is that TGC will provide some shaders that will always work no matter what.. these shaders will come in the following update or maybe sold beside the main AppGameKit product. personnaly ? i would love to pay for a good shader pack.. and yeah i know i can search the web for free but honestly i gave it too much time just to see most of them dosent work and yes i know i can learn how to write shaders but at this current stage i dont have any time to learn Math/Optics etc.. it will just take too much time and i am willing to pay , a shader pack would increase everyone visuals and will work great for all of us and the newcomers when they see.. ohh man... normal mapping just got so easy.

2. community shader pack/packs that will remain Sticky , a new Thread only for 100 percent working shaders with simple or advanced working tutorials both for Tier 1 and Tier 2 .

i honestly dont know almost nothing about shaders and everytime i try to use them i get errors or they simply dosent work.

please keep in mind , the more working shaders we'll have here the more advanced games will be released and yeah you cant blame someone who dosent want to learn shaders as most of us dont even have time to code using AppGameKit .. i am always about learning new stuff but when i dont have the time for it and i must do other (real life) stuff i find myself really bummed.

I AM READY TO PAY FOR A 100 PERCENT WORKING SHADERS !!!
TGC - THIS IS A MUST FOR AppGameKit , A MUST . and you will make more money so please MODS farward this to anyone who is interested ,please it is very important for my current project and i bet you 1 million percent it is very important to everyone here!

HAVE AN AWESOME DAY / NIGHT
thank you for your time.
Haliop.

+1 For the convenience of having an all in one shader pack with everything working out the box I'd buy it for sure, Lee, set your minions to work .... 3D is good yes but don't neglect your 2D users

I say there should be an fx system built in AppGameKit to allow shaders to be used on objects in the game without dealing with the vertex and pixel shader... in other words integrated in the AppGameKit engine.

Mobiius yes you are right but still we can offer what we need for later on dont you think ?

so even if they will just think about it , its a WIN WIN for all of us cause they know what they are doing so why not make it even better ?

a fully integrated FX system based on Shaders will help all of us but not only that AppGameKit will compete with high end engines like Unreal where the shaders are integrated inside their editor.. which is a piece of cake when it comes to hardcore graphics inside Unreal.. i would love to see some additionals shaders command inside AGK.

i would defently pay about 50$ for such a system.

Maybe it's just me but every argument loses all credibility when AppGameKit is compared to Unity (it happens a lot!).

It's like comparing a bicycle to a chauffeur driven limousine. Sure they are both methods of transport and you can get anywhere you want to with either one of them. But one requires you to do all of the hard work and is maintained by one guy and the other is fast, slick, comfortable and has a full team to provide maintenance.

But back on topic. I'm with Mobiius here. Leave the shader coding to the users. There is far too much work needs to go into fixing the core engine before anything else should be considered. Now that 3D is being integrated it's just going to introduce a whole new set of bugs which makes me think that the current ones may never be looked at again.

well Scraggle..
think about it this way:

if TGC will build a new FX shader system in the following month or two , in the third month i think they can profit some extra cash ...

i would pay 50 $ and i think some people will also pay i dont know how many but..
and at this current stage AppGameKit makes no real profit (i think) since everyone have already bought it .. using KS or here or steam..
if there will be a new FX shader system , more people will buy AppGameKit and more people will buy the FX system , so there can be a new bundle for AppGameKit and FX for the newcomers..

again im not really a business guy so i might be totaly wrong.. but i do think TGC should look at it. just pawnder about it for a while..

AGK is being developed by one man - Paul. He is currently very busy getting 3D to work. The chances of him doing anything other than that in the next "month or two" are as good as zero.

If you're so desperate to hand over your cash for Shaders then send it my way and I'll create whatever you need. Alternatively post a specific request on the forum, someone may have already created what you want and be willing to share it with you.

Just google OpenGL shaders. I did a java tutorial on YouTube where you create a full 3D engine, in it we created a vertex & pixel (fragment) shader which does all kinds of stuff. I copy & pasted it into my AppGameKit code (adding in the AppGameKit semantics which wasn't hard, even I managed to do it!) and it worked right away.

Everything you need is out there if you're prepared to look.
