I need to read the phone number of the device, is there a way to get it using AppGameKit 2? Thanks for any help.

I don't believe so in tier 1. There may be an SDk to do it in tier 2.

Is this one of the planed functions to be added? It seems like one of the needed things to have on phone platforms as well as being able to read contact information.

Might pose a security concern, I mean there are protocols to adhere to regarding data protection with contact information and phone numbers... I'd wager that it's possible but a legal grey area.

I disagree that it is needed though, AppGameKit is for games and apps that can be created without deep knowledge of the devices - if someone needs to write an app that accesses this information, then I don't think AppGameKit is the platform for them. AppGameKit is a primarily for games, and I wouldn't trust a game that even wanted to access this stuff, in fact I'd uninstall it straight away.

I totally agree with Van B. I wouldn't install any game which tried to access my phone number, contact details or anything like that.

If you need a unique identifier for the device, you can always use GetDeviceID(). This should work if you plan on building your own messenger type app.
