Hello, I've just created a HUD inspired by early builds of the first Unreal game and I wanted to know if you like it or not, what I could change, all this stuff.

Here's a mockup made with Paint.NET, screenshot by PW Productions

The red dots on the top of the status bar are the weapons, only the weapon currently in use will be displayed like this.

The left part is the armor counter.
The middle one is for the health while the one on the right is the ammunition counter.

I would like to add small frames for collected keys, but with this, the HUD look like more a Christmas tree than a HUD.

Comments & critics are welcome.
Thank you.

It has a very retro look to it like the old doom games.

+1

If that's what you're going for then you did it, but I don't like the idea of it being solid and blocking even a small part of the screen. Perhaps a partial transparency? I do like that it's all in one place and you don't have to look all over the screen to see your status.

Brian.

I'm sorry. My responses are limited. You must ask the right questions.

About the retro feel of the HUD, that's what I wanted to do.

I'll see what can be done about the transparency. Maybe be I could change the texture by something else more "technological", like this.

What about the keys, does anyone knows where I could place them ?
