I just got an email informing me about apk,s submitted to google play. It said that they now accept 100mb apks. This will be good since our 3d games are sure to eatup some space.
Thank goodness for this as my latest game is just squeeking in there.

yeah the 50mb limit made it hard to even fit 2d / music media into a game.... at least double the size should help allot. My current project is projected to be just under 100mb so it should be easier to submit without needing to cut media. I guess an apk gets compressed too when compiled so that should help also.

I remember when Sim City fit on one floppy disk!
Although the hard disk you installed it onto was almost as big as a laptop.

If we're going to get nostalgic about file sizes then you have to mention Elite. An entire galaxy fit on a 32KB BBC Micro.

I remember when an entire galaxy could be stored on 1 floppy disk. I'm looking at your Elite 2:Frontier.

The galaxy is a lie.
The galaxy was created by a singularity and a few algorithms. It's easy to fit a singularity on a floppy disk.

THis is a great news .
For 2D (and even 3D games), 100mb is really a great size !
In fact, I have made a little tool to reduce the size of my png (divide by 3), and with this new limit, my next games should be even more cool to play (more levels, more enemies, more animation...)
