I've recently picked up a Sony Experia SP to replace my broken Galaxy S2. I have discovered that any MP2 audio (saved with .mp3 file extension) is not playing on the new device. Does anyone know if this is a limitation of the device, or of Android 4.3? Can anyone suggest a more fully supported format for background music, whilst avoiding any potential licensing issues? $2500 to use MP3 is just way beyond my means right now.

I use M4A for mobile devices, should work on all of them. I don't think you can get MP2 to work on iOS. Windows doesn't come with support for this format built in so I use MP2 for PC release.
