It does depend on what you are wanting to do with it.
Some people will remember the old "Click N Play" programs from Clickteam. These would let you build a series of simple game types. Some of the programs developed were quite good, but they all had that "same look" about them and ultimately, you were limited in what you could do. Even those few games that were of a good quality had to be worked on for a long time to make them better than the usual crowd because of the limitations placed on you by the click n play system.
I would tend to disagree slightly with RPGamer when he says

as you can produce some interesting games with the 3DGamemaker.
There are many things you can do with the program and you can alter almost anything within its environment if you experiment. It is quite possible to produce a game similar (but not the same of cause) to the excellent “Axes of Evil (http://darkbasic.thegamecreators.com/?m=showcase_view&i=153) RPG, with voice-overs etc. However to do this kind of thing would require a lot of messing about with the 3DGamemaker, and ultimately you should look to buying either Darkbasic Classic or Darkbasic Professional.
But I would not write off the 3DGamemaker per say as it does fill a market need for the casual user or someone who wants to quickly design there own game with very little programming.
