Currently making something similar to this:

Sneak preview attached.

Haven't figured out yet where to put the power button.

Anyone else here done some case modding or built their own?

Never built anything like that but now I want to. I have my Windows PC hooked up to my entertainment center to effectively serve as a game console, and it would be awesome to have it blend in as furniture.

Is this the first custom case you're building or have you done it before?

I've rendered ideas before, this is the first one I've actually attempted. But it's not my first wood working project.

I've made a log of my progress thus far on my website. I think I can finish it this week, the only exception is getting the fabric for the front.

That looks great Phaelax. Wish I had an area where I could do some type of woodworking/case modding. Apartments aren't really conducive to that type of thing.

I know how you feel. That's why I got a house last year. I found one for rent for no more than the cost of a decent apartment.

Almost done!

I'm graduating college in the spring and I'm starting looking for a job so hopefully I'll end up in a similar situation. Depends on which city I end up at though of course.

Looking nice! Are you thinking of getting one of those wooden trackpads for it?

I would if the weren't $200! But the PC I'm actually putting in there is a cent OS server, so I'll mostly be remoting into it anyway.
