Is it possible to make new skeleton rigs for non humanoid character models like dogs?

Yes it is. I did it with some alien models. Here is the fpe file for an example.

I looked into the script. I think the skeleton might of been built in to the .X file. The model I wanna import has a ready made skeleton rig (and a stance animation to go with it) and is in .DAE. How do I convert it to .X without losing the skeleton rig? (I don't mind losing the animation though)

Open3mod can't export anything for me. Just a bunch of export failed errors

Assimp has no executable.
