That depends on how the blog is done. I only read parts of the AppGameKit section. But it's nice to get a newsletter sent to you. Otherwise you don't know when there are updates, unless you check it regularly or use an RSS reader.

Hopefully the talked about AppGameKit blog is part of this.

I haven't read a newsletter in awhile anyway. All it ever seems to talk about is FPS creator and more models.

To be honest the newsletter has gone down hill lately anyway. It contained rushed, old info and nothing of value and too much FPS creator stuff.

If it is to stay then it needs a complete overhaul and really needs looking at like a magazine with fresh up to date info and news.

Personally I would like to see a newsletter split in 2 one for FPS and one for AppGameKit but this would need to be looked at on a full time basis and not just an afterthought. As it stands the newsletter is a bit boring.

If you flash back to April 2012, you can see TGC announced this exact same thing back then and stopped publishing the newsletter. It lasted all of three months before TGC brought back the newsletter as the new format was apparently not well received by the community and/or did not get much traffic. I personally prefer newsletters for various reasons.

If you have read the MagPi then I think we need something like that but this would not be easy and would need someone full time. It also needs someone to promote the products too but I think there would not be the funds to do this.

I loved the newsletter, especially the part at the bottom, where i was looking for that months winner. Sadly i never won anything.
