Hy everyone. I really like the idea of DarkBASIC pro and what its all about, and so I want to get in on the fun! I actually program in c++ and allegro 5 also, but I really would love to experience the DarkBASIC software and use it for making 3d games, I refuse to do 2d because I already have Allegro 5 and c++ for that. Thus, I am prepared to learn the full DarkBASIC pro language and learn how to use it for 3D game development while I am doing 2d in c++. However, I got questions, so what is the best book out there for this now Open Source software? I could watch online tutorials also, but if a book exists then I would really like that. Also, will this game making software become abandonedware soon? or will the game creators keep the software in their hands or something else? I am truly eager to start learning, I was going to go to Blitz BASIC, but I wanted to experience this first. Anyway, I hope that this software stays alive, because I just want to start playing with it.

Thanks seppgirty, the books look great. I am going to soon hit the books, because I have great ideas for 3D!https://forum.thegamecreators.com/images/smilies/smiley.gif, I guess I will come back if the software will not be functioning for me, but do you guys think it will be totally abandoned soon? or no? I'm just a little curious that's all.https://forum.thegamecreators.com/images/smilies/happy.gifhttps://forum.thegamecreators.com/images/emoticons/bub.gifhttps://forum.thegamecreators.com/images/emoticons/joypad.gifhttps://forum.thegamecreators.com/images/emoticons/joystick.gifhttps://forum.thegamecreators.com/images/emoticons/gameboy.gifhttps://forum.thegamecreators.com/images/emoticons/sonic.gifhttps://forum.thegamecreators.com/images/emoticons/kirby.gif

Since DBpro is now open source TGC will not be updating it. It is up to the community to do this. So it will only be abandoned if the community chooses.
