Computer games development is a growing area within the Group. Applications are invited for the position of Senior Lecturer specialising in Games Programming to contribute to curriculum development and extend links with the games industry. Applicants for this post should be well proven C++ developers in a professional environment. An in-depth knowledge of Object-Oriented development and good problem solving skills are required. Experience of games development in the mainstream or independent sectors is preferable. Also desirable is expertise in one or more of the following: Artificial Intelligence, SDL, Graphics Programming, Console development (specifically PS4), and Agile development environments.
Experience of teaching or training would be an advantage, as would postgraduate academic or educational qualifications. However, the confidence to communicate complex technical knowledge and ideas to students, together with the desire to inspire and motivate, is essential.
Applicants should have a willingness to be involved in research and/or enterprise within the group.
