if you purchase the appgamekit steam key do you need to log into steam every time to use appgamekit ?

If you use the desktop icon created by Steam, then Steam will run in the back ground, but you can be in offline mode.

However, if you navigate to the application directory under Steam/steamapps/Tier1 (or Tier2)/Editor/bin/agk.exe it does run and compile, but as I do not use it that way, there could be issues that I did not encounter in my quick test

In Build Options, there is an option to turn off steam integration... I don't know if that also stops the requirement of having steam open though. I don't use the steam version very much.
