AGK bills itself as the "
Easy + Instant Game Development Kit" and its target audience is not one that should be expected to dive into such low-level coding exercises as GLSL just to accommodate rudimentary shadows. I would be satisfied if any such shaders were bundled with AppGameKit along with the necessary source code, but to date I know of know such inclusions and even scouring these forums you will find not much on that front.
Last December Paul mentioned he planned to get to 3D shadows at some point, and this month Lee posted to the Steam forums that built-in shadows are "definitely on our short-list of things to do next for the 3D side of AGK." So TGC themselves have recognized the need for this and I look forward to the day it is implemented.
