Hey,

I'm playing around with an augmented reality app. Problem is that I need to match the 3D camera FOV to that of the device camera. I suspect that device camera FOV varies depending on device. A Tier 1 command to get the device camera FOV would be most handy I think!

Hm..maybe ask the user to fit them ?
Sounds a bit like you already have made something AR like...
I'm curious as i'm trying to make feature detection shaders for AR.

Yes, I've got a basic AR project working and it is calibrated to my own mobile device. Works really well. Most devices have a camera with a FOV of around 40, but I'm concerned that deviations may impact the experience. I'm pretty sure the FOV value is readily available; it just needs to be exposed via a function.

Would you mind to share it ?
Are you using shader ? or are you using memblocks and calculate the rest with the cpu ?
how do you find the feature points ?
awww ...just give it to me !!

Sorry, I think you misunderstand. The project I'm working on is GPS-based application; it doesn't do any processing of the camera feed for tracking.

If I'd done some tracking code I would have shared it immediately!

EDIT: I would be interested in seeing if AppGameKit Tier 1 had the grunt for realtime image processing. I haven't tried working with memblocks yet.
