I've been trying to compile an APK for the Amazon store (AGK2 v2.0.21, Tier 1, compiling through the file -> export project -> as android apk menu) but every time I have the same problem.

I have tried this on two PC's now, using both the Steam version of AppGameKit and the one dl'd from TGC's website, both are showing the same error.

This is not the same error that is caused by installing over the top of a previous version. Both PC's can create apk files for Google store. In fact the only change I have made is to change the apk type option from Google to Amazon.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Thanks in advance

Sorry for the bump, but I just tried to compile another project to an Amazon apk and I got exactly the same problem.

This is quite important to me as I want to release a couple of my better performing apps on the Amazon store

I tried to repro this by making the existing .APK write-protected, played with some files in the Tier 1 folder and tried different compiler paths etc but couldn't trigger error code 1. If you want to send me your project I can see if it happens here?

@Wilf:
I'm not quite sure I understand what your saying.

My problem is simply I cannot compile an APK if I have selected the APK Type as 'Amazon' in the dropdown menu; I have tried this with several projects now and get the same problem with each one.

If it works ok for you, I guess it's a problem with my installation of AGK. Thanks for trying though

I guess I'm the only one who's having this issue then?

A game project compiles ok for me

Although, I haven't set any of the Keystone stuff

Just the default settings

APK Type - Amazon
Appname - demo
PackageName - demo.1
Orientation - Landscape
Minimum Android - 2.3.3

Permissions
Write External Storage
Internet/Network
Wake lock

Everything else is blank

Did you have keystone key stuff to yours?

If yes then I shall generate a keystone and fill out all the rest of the options and try again

I am using a keystore file as I'm looking to publish a couple of my apps to the Amazon store.

Other than that, all the settings seem the same, except I've got it set to portrait mode.

These settings compile fine when I make an APK for Google, just throws up the error when I set it to Amazon.

Hello

I have got the same error using these settings you have provided

So I shall work through the settings to see which one is causing the issue

It maybe the OutputFilePath

Give me a little while and will come back to you

I'm relieved to hear you've had the same problem, This has been driving me nuts. I'm pretty convinced now its a bug in AGK.

Or set Orientation to "All" to look after both Portrait or Landscape

Thanks, it's definitely a bug then I'll just have to wait till Paul fixes it before I can publish both of my 'portrait only' apps

Ouch - sorry to hear that that you require Portrait

I suppose Its quite important setting for portrait apps

Maybe send a request to Lee/Paul directly to put into their next update and an urgent fix to resolve that's all you can do.

Maybe force the orientation using the setorientationallowed() command
