Hi All,

I have not used AppGameKit for a while as static or dynamic objects in a 3D world did not cast shadows and the 3D worlds seemed flat and boring.
I know people were working on shaders but that was not an easy to understand.

Will a light source cast a shadow behind an object yet?
What software is easy to create light, shadow maps or baking? (I used to use Gile[s] and have a key but cant find version 2.)
What is the latest & greatest on AppGameKit 3D shadows?
Any demo's, images or software easier than Blender available?

Cheers

The latest and greatest so far I think is exactly the usage of shaders. But I think you saw that yourself.

No.

Define Easy? There are lots of software packages available that do this. Search for them and try them until you find one you like.

There are none, save for this thread.

Define Easier? There are lots of software packages available. Milkshape, l3dt, blender, caligari truespace (if you can find it.) COmpared to other packagers, blender is quite easy. YouTube has lots of training videos on there.

So this is were I'm at.
The author gave me a copy of Gile[2] 2.

Export object, diffuse & light mapped object from Giles.
Imported to AppGameKit but cant get the diffuse texture map to show.
If you can help I think I can give you a freeware copy of Giles.

Lightmaps should always be in texture stage 1, and you use this command to set them:
SetObjectLightMap( 4, 3 )

Perhaps you also need a diffuse map , but try this first
best regards Preben Eriksen,
