Hi there,

I hope this is where a thought/request like this goes...

Regarding the GetFileExists command, the logical way to look at this is by asking the question "Does the file exist?". The only two possible outcomes are "no" or "yes". I think most people would agree that a negative outcome in this situation would be "no" and therefor a "0" and a positive outcome a "yes" or a "1".

Why is it then we have, and I quote: "If the named file does exist, the statement returns 1, otherwise zero is returned."

If this can be, and should be, switched, can we get it done? It drives me bonkers...

Thanks

EDIT
...just found that the online help is not the same as the PDF...

"Returns 1 if the given file is located..."

So the PDF is stale....yay...never mind...sigh...

Even if it was the other way, it would not be wise for TGC to change this as it would break almost every single project made that uses this command.

If you have issues like this in the future, you can probably workaround it something like this:

these both are saying the same thing though... if the file exists, return 1, otherwise if the file does not exist, return 0

I'm not sure what the problem is

Neither did anybody else but I was pretty happy with my workaround so I was chill to just post it here and let you use it however you wanted
