So, looking at Ricks example here (https://forum.thegamecreators.com/thread/216175) I deduce that we use the 0,0,0 point in the world to "fix" a pivot point to any given object.

It appears counter intuitive to me; surely it would make more sense to move the relative pivot point on the object itself?

two options
create the mesh from source code as you need, there is no need to move the vertices later.
second, move and rotate the mesh vertices as you need.

I was implying that it would make more sense to move the pivot locally to the object, rather than move the object to the pivot so to speak.

normal a pivot is imaginary and the 0,0,0 pos in the mesh and the vertices relative to it.
moving the vertices is more intuitive for me. i guess its the same task you think about.

For me, the pivot is a discreet entity which is essentially a parent of the geometry - hence my question.

Perhaps it's the reasoning of someone more used to working in 3D tools like lightwave.

It doesn't really matter, as I can adapt to what it is. Now I create (null) pivot objects in the 3D design object and parent the other objects to that, rather than mess with the AppGameKit version of pivots.

e.g. I would have thought when designing an object for animation, you would already have designed pivots in if they were needed. My efforts were based on building an object from cube primitives, which isn't usual.
