Hi,

Is there a way to decrease the size of the APK file created using version "2017.02.28 Windowds" Tier 2.
My media file is 580 KB but the APK file ends up being 13 MB without IAP and 17 MB with in App purchasing.
A game I created using a previous version of AppGameKit has a Media file size of 4 MB that produces an APK file with a size of 10 MB.
Why is the new version adding about 11 MB compared to a previous version of 6 MB?

Regards,

Kevin

Oh you must have used a very old Version of AGK. I had the fun a while ago with the 50mb apk limit in the Play Store and a 3d based game, that had much more media in it.
A hello World APK took about 15mb without any media or code. Well, I stopped development until the maximal apk size in the Play Store increased, but this fact is still sad for small service apps like a compass or a network console.

I don't know exactly where this size comes from.
In Tier2 I can create a whole app in 15mb with 8mb media, but I also heavily reduced the facebook and play store stuff, so I can't tell you exactly what causes this giant size.

i guess its big because backwards compatibility.
i agree simple apps are very big in size. 100+ MB seems normal today^^

I agree Markus. However, didn't I read something about dropping some archaic version support?
Although I don't bother with mobile anymore, shouldn't you have the option to not include certain backward compatibility?

Just a suggestion, but there's nothing stopping you going into the APK and removing all the baggage you don't want and take the compatibility hit.
