Ok so I just discovered AppGameKit does not support .dds files and having searched around all I can seem to find is batch UI's and online tools, I find myself stumped in needing a commandline tool or dll (preferably the latter) to convert .dds to .png programmatically, any ideas?

There are Nvidia tools knocking about, but likely discontinued.

I had a plugin for paint shop pro and there was one for photoshop back in the day

Paint NET can load dds and export png, that part is easy, I need (want) to add the functionality to my tool, I'll give image magic a try but I think I'm goner abandon the idea, just wanted a seamless bulk converter but its not that important.

XnConvert and IrfanView are my favorites to do it before you have the game assets. But if your program has to do it on the fly ...

Preben uses nconvert
So call the file with the following command to convert 3 different files to dds:

Never did that myself... I just googled for you

Thats useful, I will try it out, I also found some .dds importer code for PureBasic I can adapt to suit my needs so I can natively convert images without using 3rd party tools, have to see what solution presents less headaches! lol
