I created code to use with RPGmod. The decrypt utility was compiled separately so that emails and other documentation could be decrypted in the educational version. The educatinal version is still being used but I am able to share these two. My youngest grandson is having a blast with them sending encoded messages to his friends. Hopefully I haven't created a "monster" spy ring here. :LOL:

THEORY - you know everything but nothing works. PRACTICE - when everything works but don't know why.
For me, theory and practice are combined: nothing works and I don't know why.

I forgot to say that they only work with text files (.txt) and that the files need to be within the same folder as the "exe" files. The file returned using the encryption has "_encrypt" added to the name of file. The decrypted file has "_decrypt" added to the file name. See attached images.

The encryption is not easy to break (although it is breakable). It's a straight-forward encryption algorithm and uses simple character replacement. It doesn't have to be a CIA or MI5 sophisticated algorithm. :SMILE:

[Addendum]:

Within the following code snippet is the original text of a test file.

The following code snippet is the encoded (encrypted) text;

If you want to see it actually work just give it a try.
