AGK Help "JoinNetwork" description says:
You must identify your client with a client name that will be visible to other clients, the client name does not need to be unique.

AGK Help "GetNetworkClientName" description says:
Returns the name the client used to identify itself when it connected to the host. All client names must be unique and this is enforced by the host.

Which one is correct? Do client names have to be unique or not?

No. You can have the same name multiple times. The only thing that is unique is the Client ID (assigned by the host automatically). But your host should check for the uniqueness programmatically itself for a better understanding
