Well, I have a small problem with XP. Not a problem, more of a case of it working too well.

A friend was at my house nad he signed onto his MSN account while he was there - he had 1 new mail message.

Now XP has remembered this, and every time it goes to the logon screen it says "1 new mail message" under my name. But I don't want it too. But it seems it won't go away until my XP somehow sees this message has been read.

Ideas?

It will go after around a week or until you read the message.
Alternatively, get Powertoys and then you can clear it when you like.
