Why do the ragdoll scripts from black ice mod have a death animation before ragdoll? Is there a way to make the ragdolls have no death anim?

ScooT9 There is no animation with this script ? Only an "activateifused=" ???

This script appears to be for something else custom ?
So exactly what is happening

When i kill a character that is using this script, the character first shows death animation and then it turns into a ragdoll

ScooT9 Here's a quick vid I just did. Ragdoll seems to be working still just fine ?

Double check your death scripts. Here's what I used. I tried different one's and have
different results for different characters. It's trial & error what works best for you

Try different combo's of the commands and see. But ragdoll does still work fine.

I meant that the character falls to the ground before turning into a ragdoll, and none of the scripts you posted here worked...

ScooT9 I don't understand, you previously said
Quote: "Is there a way to make the ragdolls have no death anim?"

If you want them to have an animation before ragdoll add that to the death script before the "ragdoll" command.
There are several of these types in your scriptbank already to try out, named throwragdollback, fore, left & right.
I haven't tried them in awhile, lets see if they still work?

that "falling to the ground" is an animation, fpscx10 doesn't have that animation
maybe i should make a comparison video between x9 deaths and x10 deaths?

ScooT9 I see what you mean, yes there is a slight difference. I have a bad feeling it's hard coded into x9 ?
I'll play around with the scripts and see what I can come up with ?

ScooT9 Yes, the death animations have been hard-coded into the engine now. Probably in the last
several version, not sure ? But I'm sure I have found a work around. Working out last bugs.
Will post a video later and how to

ScooT9 Is this what your looking for ?

I found some older posting on the subject and after some testing it was an easy fix to the ragdoll dilemma
This problem was solved long ago but forgotten. Yes, the "play death" animation seems hard-coded.
To get rid of it simply open the characters .fpe file. Change all "death" animation to only the first two (2) frames...
( This is where Fragmotion comes in handy I found that all the die animations are the frames Before #200 )
Example:

Change those to only the first two frames....

Do this for all animations that come before 200. Make original backups first.
Here is a stock one I used for this test.

Now for the script, I found a simple one that worked every time.

I also played with setframe= to "pose" the figure as it was going into ragdoll.

Try different settings to see what you come up with
