A little particle you can use for additive blending.

The reptilian from the GameGuru fantasy pack , with this little additive blending particle texture/effect added to its weapon:

Remember to set Set3DParticlesTransparency( particle_effect, 2 ) when you use this texture

And yet you use AppGameKit which is probably the biggest help of all. Surely if you believe in doing it all yourself then you should be coding in pure assembler or C++ at least? ( and writing you own graphic / audio / network / input libraries ). You use the commands of AppGameKit which contain a mountain of code underneath. Also every bit of code you've produced is not your own, you've learned from others and adapted others code to fit your needs. So to say "able to do them ourselves" is a bit of a stretch.

*Edit* - forgot to add - Cool mini particle effect
