AppGameKit Classic Chat / Does having multiple dormant 3d emitters reduce performance?

For my particle emitters I was creating 1 for each effect I needed, and then resetting them and positioning them when needed. Should I only make the 3-4 and then update them with the needed information as I need them? Or is it no big deal?
