As the title stated, a better control.
Such as per frame step control like pretty much every player out there, such as VLC.
When the video is paused, I would like to have it control frame per frame.

maybe some kind of codex information screen as well.

Play the video as a stream instead of loading the whole video into ram.

Any help appreciated!
