you could if the apple program in a unix variant state or original mac source of "virtual pc" was quick enough for a demanding task like games, but when you play back to back first person shooters the open GL port of the mac usually runs a lot faster in many regards, unless of course it was coded badly etc.. macs are tools for multimedia and I get paid a tidy sum to use them for a variety of multimedia tasks.
People who dont need to know how computers work seem to be more of the consumer but yet have a passion for something and mostly video editing and photography. Multimedia Studios always deploy them as well as print studios. Ive had mates who were lvl 2 technicians ( apple doesnt do that any more tho, its a yearly test to keep your certificate ) and get to repair drives in broken laptops in sydney for people working at fox studios. Its very interesting to hear tid bits of info he gleans
windows now suffers from so many types of virii and its well documented over the 50000 mark. This in itself is hardly the environment for macs benching in under 300.
now that apple has moved over to unix based systems it will be evident that unix like compromises and virii can be introduced.
I reckon tho you could natively install windows onto a mac if you didnt use a mac partitions and perhaps did a ntfs partition and tried win 2k and up, Ive installed mklinux onto my risc based machine without any sight nor wiff of any apple OS under its hood.
Ive still got many macs in my studio, Id really like a g5 tower with a dual head for sure simply for its wonderfull speed in regards to image editing and video editing, not to mention audio composition, creation and editing.
without macs there might not have been so many firsts so soon.
