Receiving this error when exporting to Android from studio. APK type Google.

Error: AAPT2 return C:\Paul\VC Projects\SVN
(see attached file for full message)

I take it that "Paul" is one of the developers at AppGameKit because this is not anyone from our studio.

This error is stopping me from exporting apps to Play Store.

I had a similar error, the solution was to compile into non sync folders.

Thanks for the reply.

Not sure what you mean by non-sync folders. The app is being compiled into the source folder, as it always has been.

The folders are being synced with the cloud (gDrive, iCloud, onDrive etc)

That's right, I meant that SVN blocks some files, because of this there may be such problems when compiling.

I do not see any settings/options for cloud based file/folders. I thought studio is installed locally. With steam simply managing the install/updates.

Seeing as no actual fixes are being suggested I have tried the old Turn-it-off-and-on-again solution method and uninstalled and reinstalled agk studio.

But same error on exporting.

This error occurs when exporting any app, I have tried 5 different app exports. All were exporting fine 2 weeks ago.

I have also used the steam file verification process and no errors are reported.

How often do the developers of AppGameKit look at this forum?

If export the project to your desktop?

Pull the project from the sync folder, copy it to the desktop and compile outside your SVN

I have compiled it from the desktop and exactly the same error.

As a paying customer I would like to see the product fully supported.

This problem is stopping me from releasing new versions.

The "C:\Paul\VC Projects\SVN" part of the error message has NOTHING to do with the project's location.

1. Uninstall
2. Remove C:\Program Files (x86)\The Game Creators
3. Remove C:\Users\your_name\AppData\Local\AGKApps
4. Make sure you have the latest version
5. Re install

Can you compile a completely new and empty project to google?

All the apps compile and run successfully, that is not the issue.
I can compile any of my apps they all fail on the export to google/amazon.

Now:
I have compiled a new project, successful. It again fails on export.

I have Uninstalled.
I have removed C:\Program Files (x86)\The Game Creators
I have removed C:\Users\your_name\AppData\Local\AGKApps
I am currently reinstalling from steam

I will update shortly after reinstall.

For the sake of curiosity. AppGameKit Classic will make it possible?

Classic had the same error. But now is also fixed so more than likely the fix is either:

Remove C:\Program Files (x86)\The Game Creators
or
Remove C:\Users\your_name\AppData\Local\AGKApps

as just he uninstall/reinstall (from Steam) did not make a difference.

FYI the version is V2019.09.27
