I wasn't sure if I should post this yet, as there's still a lot to do.
However, I know a few people liked the original sync system and this is well.. see for yourself. I'm pretty happy with what I've come up with so far.

Only a couple of lights synced in so far (dancers aren't synced) and you can't see the speaker cones pulsing from this video.
At least I can find a place to put all these cool routines I've done over the years into one place at last!

Update:
Now working with streams (mp3/ogg) with peak and RMS levels (this demo is using an OGG stream) Looking into FFT for more details in future versions.
I've improved the overall lighting setup and added a nice synced floor.

Another thing is that I added VR support and it looks amazing in VR... could be something here

All the flare sprites have been converted to vectored planes for VR as well.
A lot of other little improvements - added occlusion masks to animated objects, as you can't raytrace through anims still

Started refactoring code to allow for a scene editor.

I updated my XM sync plugin to use OGG/MP3 for this.
As a side benefit, we could (on Windows at least) now play an OGG/MP3 from memory and not have to stream from disk.
if you used my WadPack system (or some other media obfuscation of your choosing) then you could add some additional protection to that media.

First pass using the new beat detector to start interacting animations.
The character animation sequence is re-synced at every 4th beat, as the dance loop does and can drift. If you look close, you can see the debug info showing beat timers on the vid screen

Other effects are working off other input (stereo peaks etc.) Looks pretty good. I've over-lit the actor for reference.
