Hey.

Came across this little one today.

Setting an object mesh image with a value of 0 returns an error telling you that image doesn't exist, rather than removing the assigned texture as it's meant to.

You are absolutely correct. It is a bug.

I found this one myself too and keep correcting it in the interpreter and compiling a working version. Ive also found another when using setobjectimage() where the image ID is non zero but doesnt exist. it should flag an error but doesnt as the internal code is incorrect.
