If I wanted to make a first person grid-based 3D dungeon crawler in a short space of time (for a game jam), which GameCreators tool would be my best option?

I have licenses for GameGuru (not Max), AppGameKit Classic and AppGameKit Studio.

I haven't tried GameGuru, but it definitely seems like it would take a lot of work out of the equation. AppGameKit would require a bit more boiler plate code to get it up and running, although you'd have tons more flexibility in the end.

I made this with AppGameKit for a low-rez (64x64) jam not too long ago.

Games Pack 1 contains AppGameKit Source for Labrynth provided by fubarpk if that's the "grid-based" style you're looking for:

Gar's Mage Quest was fascinating to follow. Learned a lot from reading through those threads. Never knew about fubarpk's thing. I have to check that out!

Thanks

It uses a bread crumb effect for the way the badguy tracks you down. Haha i get lost in those kind of
mazes so i need the 2d Map overlay

Anyone who has the games pack is quite welcome to use the code in anyway you chose including the
shaders. All media such as sound videos sprites cannot be used without written consent.

Ive also got methods of converting any style of 2D maze into 3D there are plenty of those across the internet
including tutorials etc there is ones i think on my snippets thread aswell which isnt hard to read a 2d map
and place a 3d box object in your 3d world, there is a few different 2d maze generators on the classic forums

2d Maze Algorythms
The Random walk Algorythm can be found here https://forum.thegamecreators.com/thread/222027?page=3
And there is an example by chfari on the same page
Not one tha same page there this one which uses a different algiorythm for the maze code by Blinkopedia for a gamejam we entered
