Appkido v210905 first demo on YouTube

Endless runner meets fighting game.
Weapon upgrades by getting weapons off villains.
Simple swiping controls but endless possibilities to progress through the stages and weapon tech tree.
Out on Android and IOS 2022.

The buildings and weapons are place holders for dev purposes and will not reflect the final look in the game.

Thanks Virtual Nomad.

Sound and music will definetly be in there but no shadows.

I could ( technically ) do shadows but for this type of game genre ( endless runner meets fighting type ) I am OK with the current look ( not too realistic ) and don't want to add any more dev time ( taken a while already ! ) with fiddling with shadows etc. I will however love to put shadows in at some point ( depending on release figures ) and keep it in mind for future updates or versions.

There will be some particle looking FX in there but top of the dev list/design is how it feels and the tech tree story arch to the game etc.

is the game 2d? looks 3d to me but could be pre-rendered? if 3d, shadows should be simple but perhaps not the look you're going for and i can understand that

again, good luck. and, i'll be watching for more.

Yes, the main game is 3D animated models with one or two 2D sprites for FX etc.

The main characters started out as 2D animated sprites and that was how Animshed came about when I was creating the frames.

Hey, you have pipped my interest in shadows VN. I shall see how I get on with my other list of tasks to complete the game and whether I have some experimental time on my hands.
I think before shadows i want to have some more hit FX and the gameplay needs to be sound. But you have given me food for thought should I have time to play around with shadows.

Unfortunetly Appkidi didn't make the 'Develop Brighton Indie Showcase' but nearing ( I really hope ! ) a release date soon.

Showing actual gameplay with health, grip strength & back pack amount idicators on character in this demo.

*Endless runner meets fighting game
*Constantly battling increasingly more thugs & enemies in your town.
*Follow tasks list to progress through game
*Pull off combo routines and moves to gain more points towards your high score
*Avoid and attack thugs and enemies coming down screen.
*Grapple weapons off thugs and enemies
*Pick up objects & items from pavement.
*Increase your grade ( belt colour ) by picking up martial arts mags.
*Power up moves and combo moves to beat the high score
*Simple swiping controls for ease of use
*Can just go through game casually or player can think their way through the game to reach their high score using various methods.

I have setup Appkedo on Showcase a week ago but there seams to be a problem viewing the showcase and no update as to what is happening.
Therefore I have notified the release of Appkedo on the end of this post.

Thanks Virtual Nomad for the shiney new badge. Ooh, do I have to polish it every day!

Appkedo was a hard slog. With many dips and highs. Well, more dips acutually. But now I can relax a little ( working on the ASO marketing now ! ) now and get on with the other projects.
Hopefully not taking so long this time .lol

I did surprise my self on how much fun it actually feels like ( mainly in the later stages ) while playing it. Even though I thought I would be sick of it at the end. Not just saying that either.

Anyway, thanks again for your support and technical help now and again Virtual Nomad.

On with the next project now.
