ZBrush can turn an Alpha and draw it in 3D, but the result has 80000 polygons. I want to do that with far less polygons. Basically for clock hands at the moment...

I have included the clock hands.

Milkshape3D can do poly reduction but it can't load a model above about 64000 polys.

I know this is not the same as auto generated 3D models but, what about putting your textures on planes?
I made a quick example.
BASIC appeared in May 1964. Lightning flashed, the wind roared and the Earth moved.
And nine months later I was born.
So here I am.
I am Basic.
Code is in my genes.

Managed to reduce them in Blender. Planes might be OK depends if I can get close up to them.

high polycount in zbrush is fine as anything you produce in zbrush should be baked to normal maps then applied with a shader to a low poly mesh
