Hi guys
This is probably my first thread here in the WIP forum because its also my first game to get to a presentable stage, so this is a pretty big moment for me
Anyways... this game is called "Extreme Alien Pong" and its pretty obvious what the game is about its a remake of that old classic "Pong" with a couple of twists(and alien models) thrown in
I'm not that enthusiastic about it because its nothing special but i'd appreciate it if you'd download it and try it out and post all the bugs and improvements you can possibly think of.

Controls
Left Arrowkey-Move Left
Right Arowkey-Move Right
P- Pauses the game(Press p again to un-pause)

Powerups
3 so far
Speed Increase- Both ball and player get faster
Controls Reversed-Left Moves right, Righ moves left
Small Balck Ball- Ball is turned small and black so its harder to see
(any suggestions for more? please say!)

The aim of the game is to get the highest score and then continue beating your own highscore, over and over and over again, and at the end of your journey you will be enlightened(no guarantees)
Powerups come in the form of colourful spinning cubes which your ball must hit.
Remember that the aliens can't deflect the ball, if the balls goes off the bottom you lose a life, only 5 lives then game over.

Once again please post any suggestions/imporvements/comments/bugs etc.

Pretty good, actually. Menu looks great, especially the title.
I don't know how you're starting it again, but either you put the START: label before the load sound commands or you forgot to delete all the files at the end - either way, you can't play it twice.

I would suggest some detail in the level (moon bases etc.)

As for powerups:
Amoeba Ball - Every so often the ball splits into two balls, each one goes a bit slower. The balls keep splitting, 1 - 2 - 4 - 8, then seven of them disappear, returning it to normal. This would be good and bad, you may lose more lives but you will score points faster if your good.

thanks for testing i forgot to put sounds into my cleanup function thats why it screwed up, level details were already planned, the splitting ball sounds like a great idea but i'm not sure i'm going to be able to implement it in time... i'll upload a new version with the bug fix in a minute. do you think its worth me entering the compo?

Top score 890!

Very good Red_eye, have to love the menus.

I only encountered one error during the game. I was able to jam the ball on the left side when it was coming, thus racking up my score.

The powerups are a great touch to the game.(Have only encountered the speed powerup so far).

How about adding another powerup that increases your paddel size?

Thanks yellow i'll add in a couple of powerups to make the paddle bigger/smaller. i've known about that bug for a while, it happens when the ball hits the bat and one of the sides at the same time, this confuses it and it just sticks to the side i'll try and fix it

Easy fix, just check for collision with the two objects and the ball, and move the object out a little to fake it Thats the quick fix anyhow

well, its being uploaded to the tgc server as i type, i can't upload it to my own site yet as jimmy is changing dbpcommunity all around, grrrr. it looks better now that it runs at 1024x768 fsex mode, added a little to the menu and a couple of rocks to the scene, also added bigger paddle and smaller paddle powerups, my highest score is about 1400 now hehe
