I haven't posted for awhile because of the Christmas, and also I've just re-started college. Anyways, I just wanted to ask if anyone out there knows some good video editing software.

The kind of software where I can edit individual frames, without losing the sound file. Also with some extra advance features that I may find useful, eg, screen wipes, and adding text during the film.

NOTE: If you don't know any advance software, but you do know some video editing software then please leave a post.

The reason why I am after some video editing software is for my new 'Video Production Team', because we are just creating mini videos for, and around my college, its just for fun really, because I've always wanted to do it...

theres a freeware application called virtual dub.

For these isssues the best thing is to visit www.download.com and look for video editing software but read the reviews and skip the first few since they are usually the creators secret agenda names.

Try VirtualDub, it's free and pretty good for editing individual AVI frames ... you can get it from here :-

If you install nimo's codec pack, you can use other compressed codecs like DivX, Xvid etc.

Vegas Video 4.0

Works wonders for me... (although its about 200$-300$ I belive, i dunno i got a free upgrade when sony took over the franchise..)

If i ain't here, i'm probably playing DOA2 Hardcore on the PS2

I have pinnacle video editing stuff my self. My friend has Final Cut Pro on his G4. Final Cut is really nice. That's what he uses for the local news I think.

Adobe Premiere and Pinnacle Studio 8 are semi-pro. They cost a lot. Virtual Dub should be good enough
