hi
Is it at all possible to download an installation file for direct x 9? rather than doing a 'web setup' where you have to be online. This is because if i want to give my games to friends, i have to tell them to download dx9 first in order for the game to run (and you can't get broadband in my town so that will take them about 1 hour to download). it would be easier if i just included the installation package for dx9 (if one exists) on a cd with the game and give them that...

It is usually bundled with the latest games, although it may just be 9.0 and not 9.0b. You can swipe it from that, or you can download the nice large SDK and use that.

The place for all great plug-ins
2 x XP3000+, 1Gb RAM, nVidia FX5600. 1 Draytec Router and me.

Thanks IanM. I'll snatch this one as well.....

This is wonderful. Now I can continue to have control over my Windows98SE system for the next few years.

I plan to use it in a few years after M$ has all actively supported systems under their control. I may someday need DX9 for an application like DBPro 1.5+.

Windows98SE support is going byebye after January 16, less than 10 days. I doubt if future DX's will contain any WIN98 support so I'm getting while the getting is good!

Peace, the anti-Bush.
