Keep up the good work. Personally always interested in anything online since I'm not to good with multiplayer myself.

Um...a dedicated server that's capable of handling game traffic is going to cost you money.

I've actually made an online game before, and gotten it to work with non-lan computers. I was so proud until I realized how terrible the game code was, then I trashed it.

I don't think people will be impressed with more screenshots, we need to see proof that this will be online.

i'm currently doing the multiplayer code, in fact i will try to promote and sell this game, the only way i will release a demo, if it just testing to see if the multiplayer code is working, i'm curently using my ip address to see if the multiplayer code is working!

what soul shooter online, is really about it simple, just to see if you can stay in the battle long enough and score the highest points possible.

That screenshot is evidence against you.

You can tell from the scroll bar that you have only coded about two pages - the first page is all "load object"s the second page is probably mostly the same, with a bit for controlling the player. There is no way you could fit enough code for an online shooter into that much space.

Give him some slack. I belive him. Tons of people use includes, and I do too. Only time can tell if he is lying or not.

sorry, everyone.

if I = 1 then I = 1 else I = 0

Im glad for your willing to share your work with us. However, the code you are showing isnt very useful because it is at a level most of us can achieve by ourselves.

I thought #includes had to be at the begining. That's where I always put them

you're totally right, it's only in DBP where you can include them from the editor

Yeah, in DBP you include them in the editor. Why that is, I have no idea. I like how in every other language you just have the #include "blah.c" or whatever, makes way more sense.

@chris - You were right about Soul Shooter being a bit small I won't be so quick to defend next time hehehe

if anyone remembers, "thedesktops" had a few other threads similar to this one. I think he/she spends too much time in the forums, and too little time getting acquainted with the language.

just my opinion... thedesktops, don't be offended.

I appreciate your interest in the forums, and communicating your ideas with everyone, but you should really sit down and try to make a simple, complete game BY YOURSELF. you'll learn a hell of a lot from it I promise.

look forward to your future projects (don't post them here until they're a little farther along, okay? )

i concur with walaber (even though it is just a combination of what i and a couple other people have posted in this thread) but still if you work at a game and give us something substantial and playable in think you will feel better and a lot of us will be quicker at giving you the benifit of the doubt
