I wonder why the human brain works like it does.

I see many webpages that say things like "Contact Us", when it should really say "Contact Me", or "We’ve been really busy lately working on..." when it should really say "I’ve been really busy lately working on ...".

I myself am guilty of this. For 3 years, I ran the website called www.BardsTale.com, which was a fan site about the classic 80’s game The Bard’s Tale. Whenever I would post an update, I would say "This week, we’ve added...", or "Next week we plan to change the...". I knew very well that I was the only person on the project, but I always posted the word "we". And instead of "Contact Me", it was always "Contact Us".

Why is it that our human nature wants to make it appear that we are always part of a bigger team, or a group, when the effort is just being done by one person?

For all of you people who put "Contact Us" and are really part of a team, this message is not for you. I just keep seeing websites in the DB Community and abroad that say "Contact Us", and all they have on their website is tons of info about one person, which makes you doubt whether it is really a team effort or not.

Largely because people like to leave a professional impression so they post 'we' to imply a team.

when we (people who say "we") say "we", it's because we are supposedly representing a company. This is something which
normally, is made up of more than one person.

Either that, or they are the direct decendant of the owner
of "the precious"...
