no, you have to make key frames for animation. That request that you already have limbs.

i made a tank model and db tells me i got no limbs!

this depend on modeler you use. You have to make limbs like separate groups or even separate objects. Ofthen you have to link them together useing joints.

You can also build your object in DB via limbs commands (add limb I think it is) for that you have to load each limb like separate object, turn it to mesh and add it like limb to parent object. Look at DB commands help ...it wery well written.
