I'm finding it quite difficult to export stuff modelled in wings for use in DBP. If I export to 3ds format, then in DBP the objects are unsmoothed and flat-shaded. If I use lithunwrap to export to .x the the normals information seems to be lost - the object is bright on all sides with no variation on lighting!

What processes do you guys go through?

Thanks,

arras

I usualy doing only modeling in Wings, then I mostly export to Milkshape (3ds format) and set smoothing groups/animate/whatever.

In lithunwrap you can change the brightness of the object my double clicking a material you want to change, and set the shinyness lower (i usually do about 50). Although it's not perfect...

Do you bite your thumb at me sir?

@arras ... oh, I don't have milkshape, so I wouldn't really know.

@Hamish - I tried that, the model just ends up being totally flat shaded.

Well, I used the dbo converter, and it worked. smooth shaded models all round ... damn that RobK
