Well, I downloaded a train model from the internet made in Anim8or. It is a "mesh" in ani8or but when loaded into DBpro it looks like:

does each group or limb have a unique name?
what did you use to convert it with?
was it a 3ds to x when you loaded it?
how many polys is it?

Its best to make your own so you know what methods you have used and so forth, Relying on another persons modelling intentions can lead to unwarranted polygons in places since they didnt intend it to be used for your game per say.

I think you have the 5.2 patch...
See it has a bug which makes your .x files look weird, so what you should try is to export the file as .3ds.
You should try to open the .an8 file and then make the camera view from behind the plane. Then export it as .3ds and try again.

@indi: I couldn't model anything if my life depended on it, so I have no choice
