Its just to protect the forum from being unreadable because of large avatars.

"Seven out of ten people suffer from hemmorhoids." Does this mean that the other three enjoy it?

i dont think 100x100 is unreadable my any means. i think its perfect. imagine my avatar at 2 times its current size, thats 2 times the frog love.

Ooohhh, a double post... ahhh... the good old days...

Dunno, 50x50 is ok. I don't care on my large monitor downstairs, but right now I'm on my laptop, which is just right for 50x50 avatars. Ash's massive avatar was really quite a good % of the screen. I also don't care about download speed (cable), but I suppose it may be a little slow for 56k boys.

Cheers

50x50 is the max size. Think yourself lucky, that's 10 pixels more than on DBDN

Personally I think anything more will start to look ridiculous. I remember back in the old days when it was all ascii... *cue ramblings of a net old timer*

Couldn't you at least remove the stretching of avatars smaller than 50x50? I wanted to use my little 9x6 pixel one! Also, is there a max file size limit? Nobody should need more than 10k...

Oh, and if you click someones profile button the avatar pic is linked as if it was stored locally on the server (and thus not valid)...

Hmm, no automatic word-wrap on signatures? Guess putting pi in there wasn't such a good idea after all...

Aargh! Huge signature pic! Actually I really don't think signatures should allow pictures (you know there's a reason for why they put a max 2 line-breaks in signature limit? )...

Hmmm, must be crappy resolution of laptop. Still 1000x800ish should be normal resolution, and most of the obove posts are going over the edge of the screen. I know I hardly press return much.

Ah right, you meant the sig pic. No way man, is huge on my laptop. Takes up sig (arf) part of the screen...

I left out gumby because it would take up too much room in this forum, it just wouldn't look right

if anyone thinks my sig is so big that it's a problem, I'll get rid of it

Nah it's ok. Even on me laptop seems alright. Any bigger though gets annoying with multiple posts. Just expands the size of a thread big style.

I can't check the filesize of an avatar if it's not hosted on this site, it's impossible without sucking it down to compare it every time and that's just a pain in the ass.

I'll remove img support from signatures

No pics in sigs? I think they should just be limited to the size of those little banner things, 88x31.

I'm not as think as you confused I am!

Darn! Uuurg... I love big avatars. They can look very good. 100x100 would be a good limit... but ah, ok .
