People spamming random rubbish need a swift kick in the googlies!

I know i have been posting picutres up but that is relivant to the thread and most of you people only understand pictures and colours and you cant read!

this place needs tighter control really it does.. I know this is general talk but still STFU! and post something that is of interest.

People that are posting BS stuff
fire2000 - You have a cjb account WTF! if you cant afford a domain name and decent space then how the hell can you afford to give away a damn PSX which costs "$1060" ha! BS Alert!

LinuxUser - If you really are a such an uber linux user that you even have your damn Alias as LinuxUser then you would of relised that giving your password out on this place was a bad idea and i am sure you should know the dangers of giving out your password and why you should never do it.... I do relise that LinuxUser and fire2000 are probably the same person...

This is a forum for people who want to use darkbasic and darkbasicpro and what ever product TGC throw at us. I understand there are people who no longer use DB or DBP but hang around to give help... (its what happens on LLRGT) but if you are not going to take these boards seriously then goto your fecking freewebs account or get your own stupid forum and post rubbish there but dont advertise about it here

</rant>

I am sure this part of the forum will probably be removed soon.... We dont want that. cause somepeople know how to use it as it is intended.

@ Hamish McHaggis

No we dont. its not against the law not to have one...

Its a Website based on products and the level of spam means it brings down the quality of TGC making it seem like the user base it <10 years old....

And to solve that problem simple remove the general talk.... its simple.

People how have been here for just under a year and still can`t code pong thay fan the flame of wars started by the spamming noods. thay post ues-less info thant of no ues. thay post 50 times say thay what to be mods. there the one who attack ever one on the team forum.

-- case point --

noods : i what to make some of my objects glow

uesr : that easy set SET OBJECT AMBIENT to 0 and set FADE OBJECT to 200 then the object will glow,you can ues a Shader and that will give your a halo around object. but you need a real good card for that.

old nood : no that will not work you have to ues Shader no mate what.

noods : i do`t thing my card can do shaders but if you say its the olny way old nood.

When Rich returns, do you think he should re-think how these forums should be used? Perhaps dropping the General Forum altogether?

You can't drop general talk, it is the most used forum. General chat will go all over the other forums, and the place will be even more of a mess than it is now. Besides, it is useful for DB........

Where is the best place to get samples?

Here is my music.

What is the best graphic card?

That sort of thing.

So general talk is useful. Spammers have become frequent, but it did all start when someone mentioned.. Da Codez! and Megaman Zero. So I reckon that someone, or a few people are trying to re-invent that scenario. That means that they are members from that time, probably quite new then, and thought that it was better to have stupid posts, than to concentrate on useful information. If you look back to that topic, their names will be in there somewhere.

Pincho.

I don't see how you can complain about spammers, there's hardly any reason for this thread to be here as it is.

[edit] lol, look at the adverts at the bottom of the page, I get linux adverts! Proably its mentioning the word "linux".

linux linux linux

It wouldnt go everywhere if the Admins/Mods kept it under control and people would be sensible enough not to post in other parts of the forums

But i guess from you guys sense is something you all lack!..

@DavidT
Did you look at the site its frikking forum.. with a paypal donate at the top... I think if he has the money to pay and give away a PSX then he could atleast make a site respectable and maybe advertise and not as for money for whatever reason (probably to pay for the PSX)

@Pincho
Yes the general Discussion is very useful for that kind of thing i agree but unfortunatly people start to take it too far and spam.. There is a sticky topic at the top i believe it says "this forum is a privilege" I suggest you all read it

hehe instead of dropping the general talk, let's make it "general DB talk". like TGC originally wanted to do when they moved to the site before this one. really now - what's the point of having a DB board and DB "general" board? "it can be off topic as long as it's about DB" i think was their argument.. lol.

though i will have to agree that it's a bit harsh to remove the general talk altogether. it WILL do nothing to stop the spammers; at least for now it's sort of a buffer. besides if you hate general talk so much, don't bother looking.

"i would put up with a blitz forum on llrgt than watch this forum get tons of newbies"

i'm not real sure why you have SUCH an aversion to blitz. it's like you think it's poison or something. like having a blitz board really makes LLRGT a dark and awful place!

I wouldn't drop the general forum. It was mentioned here years ago. At the time I agreed as I hardly used the general forum at the time (3000 posts, with less than a hundred in general). But is a good place to put, well, general stuff.

And, hell, due to a few annoying circumstances I don't have time for DB progamming anymore really. But I still visit the general forum now and again to get a bit of the old 4Rum spirit.

Cheers

I would hope that people would be sensible enough to not post random crap in another forum.....

Think about it you see
DarkBASIC discussion
you dont immediatly think "Oh lets post about what i had for breakfast today"

But when you see General Discussion you think
"Ah that means i can post anything" you are wrong... but you still think it!!!

as i said its all a matter of common sense...

If you remove the general forum where will we have our "Word association"? in the program annoucements? (sorrie for spelling im tierd and i think carple tunnel is setting in) or those funny topics that everyone loves. The mods just need a delete post option for the forums.

NOOOOOOooooooooooo!!!!

Save the General Forum!

Without it, there would be nowhere to just chill!

I have a simple solution: if you don't like the general forums, don't use them! There's no reason to shut down the General Forum just because you're sick of the Newbs, it's an important part of the whole system! Without it, al the other forums will get spammed and filled with Newbs asking "Wherz da codes" and other stupid things! The General Forum is important, and i'm telling you when it's gone everyone's really gonna miss it!

I sometimes wonder if, in fact, Newbs click on one at Random. But then again...i'm not so sure that both would work. People would always post in the wrong forums because people have different ideas of what Spam is, so thee would wars between everyone because of them posting in the wrong areas...if you see what i mean...

-Dave

Anyway, i love the General Forum. I can code but i never do, there-fore i'm completely useless to all other forum users. Wow,that makes me feel kinda sad...i'm gona go fix a Newbie's code! YAY! Sorry, ignore this bit.
