One thing that's not mentioned anywhere in the documentation is that for X and 3DS models textures need to be in
.bmp format. If not, you'll most likely just get a grey or black object. Took me a while to figure this one out!
Slightly off-topic, but the documentation
really lets DBP down; it can (apparently, at least) do all kinds of neat stuff, but the manual and online help is next to useless. The sample programs are also very poorly commented, making them less helpful than they could be. The spiral bound command reference was a nice touch but it's more of an aide-memoire, and the Beginners Guide is only useful as roach material as far as I can tell. Anyone fancy writing a
proper manual?
