I have tried various ways of giving one sprite priority over another (Being in front) during the running of a prog'.
The order of priority is governed by the order in which they are first called in the program and I have been unable to change this during the running of the program, so I have come up with a simple solution in the demo below.
You can alter this in loads of ways to give you 2D folk the illusion of 3D.

Hi, neat idea - but isn't this what the "set sprite priority" command is there for?

Cheers.

Yeas, ive been using it. I put sprite1 ,a hand, at the mouse location, hide the mouse and set the priority of the sprite1 to 10,000(im not sure what the upper limit is, but Im gonna have alot of stuff drawing, and using easy numbers is important). Then it always draws on top.

GIve me more power!

dbc doesn't have set sprite priority it a dbp command, goto underware's site he has a set of routines that include prioritising sprites in dbc.

RGT may be gone but the best DBP forum is still alive and kicking, check it out.
