Inno Setup
http://www.jrsoftware.org/isinfo.php

I know this has been mentioned in discussions before but I finally got 'round to loading it up and testing it out with a vb.net app deployment -- very sweet. Nice neat painless.
Free even if you are packaging up your software to sell!

I will definitely be donating to this guy!!

I am surprised no one seems to like this one.
this is just as good, if not, better, than the icon editor find.

man!!! at last someone finds Inno setup!!!!! I've been using it for some time and I also have some sort of program that makes code for it with a wizard...can't remember the name now. It's a VERY GOOD program, it's TOTALLY FREE and it does installations like the InstallShield!!! try it! and love it!

It looks good. Have added link to my favourites. I suppose biggest problem is that hardly anyone here, including me, has ever finished writing a game that needs a proper windows installer.

Boo!

I am in that same boat too! But I needed the installer for some vb apps I am offering on my website. Hopefully games will not be far off.

This is the tool I use for all the Banshee games.

Sweet! I'm just starting to think about deploying my VB app Online Lite.

I'll definitely have a look at this one.

Yeah I love this program-- I've been using it for three years for all my programs.

I was previously under the impression that Inno popped up a splash screen when it had done.

Currently thinking of a new company name

nope.
not anymore at least. not sure if it ever did that.
even if it did I wouldn't mind. I am going to send this guy a donation, just for writing a kick-arse program and giving it away free.
