I've been messing with Photoshop, and updating some of my graphics. Here is a picture of Firefly 2 with new graphics.

I think it's just a lottery predictor, but the graphics are very nice. Unfortuately, it's a known issue with computers that they can't properly generate a true random number. If you generate a long serise of random numbers you'll see a pattern start to form. It's been like that since I started using computers way back in 1981.

There are things you can to do try and make the numbers a little more random, but it's never truely random.

Wicked nice graphics though.

i was thinking about something like that to make but it was only gonna accept input and then output the input data but it also was going to rely on the the fact that you input the numbers form say the last 5 weeks and then it will output the most common numbers drawn but i think 5 weeks would be to short try 180 days is better i think =)

Yeah, there's lotto magazines that print the most commonly drawn numbers using an average over several years data.

It's a Psychic Lottery Predictor! It locks on to your brainwaves, then it tries to capture your premenition cortex. It takes whatever it can find in there, and amplifies it thousands of times!

You can import sorce data to base a random nuber on. I saw one company that used web cams. It took the interference from a web cam that was plugged in but still had the lense cap on. You get , what, a 320x260 image where every pixel is a colour near black, but not quite black. And its always totally random, so you use that sequence of nubers as a base for your random number generator. And you get 50 or 60 fresh random numbers every second...

It's not a random number generator, it's Psychicly induced.

Haha, thats much cooler. Did you ever read anything about "alpha brain waves". Apparently they are electrical waves that your brain produces when you think. You can read them with a helmet device, and the scientist researching it found that when you think the same thing, the wave pattern is the same. So you can read simple thoughts, like "left" or "up", so they wired up some airoplanes to be flown by thought waves, way back in the 1950s. It was too haphazard though, and very dangerous, but I think its interesting. It would be fun to make a game using that interface. You have to recalibrate it for each person who uses it though...

But seriously, you can fly a plane with them using 1950s technology! Tangentally,my mate at college made a lie detector that was pretty accurate(measures the change in skin conductivity, which changes when you are under stress), so a game that measures your stress level could be very interesting. Even just linking the main charachters colour to the out put would be fun, so your charachter changes to be more and more red the more excited the player gets....

There is a strange link between you, and your computer without a hat or any attatchments to your body, but I can't explain exactly how it works. As an example though, I shall tell you about Firefly's strange results...

I do some regular numbers on the Lotto every week. Lets say that they are..

2,13,23,28,35,43
2,24,26,35,45,47
4,5,29,32,47,48

These 3 lines!
When I first started using firefly it picked..

4,5,29,32,47,49

Just 1 number wrong from my usual numbers. So I put it on the internet, and someone told me that it picked 5 of their regular numbers as well. So it seems to connect to you, but not always in a psychic part of your brain. I have modified it a bit since then to try to ignore your knowledge a bit more.

I have written a VB Lotto Predictor as well. It does all that other stuff, like storing numbers, and telling you the most common etc. But it also generates a world of 4 million people, and it looks to see what they are doing. If john is pulling on his red socks it looks to see what numbers were drawn last time that john pulled on his red socks. It does this for all 4 million people, then tells you the best numbers. It's my coincidence system.

Pincho, you've got some open cleanser cemicals around your computer desk. Pyschic connection... LMAO.

So you're telling me there's no rnd statement in your source? If you have an rnd statement, then it's a random number generator.

It uses rnd() but not on its own. It messes with it in a psychic manner. Rnd() can get its seed from anything. Like Timer(), now if you could control your computer clock with your mind, then you could alter rnd(). That is similar to what I am doing. I don't actually mess with your clock by the way.

LOL

It just goes to show if you reply to too many posts on this forum this is what can happen.

Ofcourse if it predicted the results too well then we would all win but not as much as we first put in after they deduct the amount for charities.

Maybe the lotto companies have paid pincho off so he does put a random generator in there so its not always right.

me/ whispers "BTW I put black socks on today..will I win?"

Actual it did kinda spookme. Wheen ever i blink my eyes it stops in place and then once i look at the cursor again it starts moving. I also think of a certain number and it goes to it! WEIRRRRD. Good job Pincho.

I'm just really skeptical of anything "super nautural"... I haven't tried it, because I don't have the internet at home just yet. I don't see how the program can break the laws of probability.

Put it this way, if the program really worked the way you said it does...You'd be a rich rich man...

I wouldn't be rich for making a program that does strange things. It moves to numbers you are thinking of conciously, but then it moves to the opposite side of the circle if you get excited, which you do when you realise what is happening. That's your subconcious doing that. I am trying to find the psychic, but I have found concious, and subconcious, somewhere there may be a way to find the psychic, but I haven't figured it out yet. Still, an interesting thing to try out. It picked five numbers that I had written down out of six, and that's way beyond pure chance, but it doesn't do this very often. About 1 in 300, which is still way above chance.

Well, your program looks nice anyways... I'm one of those, don't believe in god, magic, or any other kind of hocuspocus... Plus I'm scottish, that make me extra stubborn. I chose to remain ignorant. If there is a god...well, I guess I'll be smoking a cuban cigar with satan in the end.

I'll tell you that the code is not just random. It is based on an experiment performed by an american scientist. He sat people in front of a giant mind control machine. It was a big board full of pins, and ball-bearings were dropped down. The ball bearings bounce off the pins, they can go left or right. People were told to make them drop into the left bucket or the right bucket, and it sort of worked. Most peoples brains can make the bearings go into the left bucket more than the right bucket. So I programmed the experiment with 49 buckets, and lots of imaginary ball bearings. Now you know how Firefly works!

I love all that psychic stuff. It is mad, because on the one hand, logic dictates there is chance, which is brutal and hard and cannot be influenced. But if you start to have human involvement in random desision making(like the Ball bearing example) then wierd stuff starts to happen.

It works with Zenner cards too. (They are the cards at the start of ghost busters). Anyway, literally hundreds of thousands of repititions of the experiment have been carried out over the last 50 years both in the UK, United States and Russia. The experiment is conducted by 2 people, the first person holds up one of the 5 zenner cards, so the second person cannot see whats on it, and the second person writes down what they think the card is. Now obviously, chance dictates that they get it right 20% of the time, but reality shows that people are 25% accurate. Now this is interesting, because whilst it is still very inaccurate, it is still statistically significant. And there are so many experiment that have similar results, that it is not accurate to say that there is no connection between intent and outcome, because scientific experiment shows there IS a statistically significant link.

And then you have to start talking in philosophical terms about scientific phenomena, ie were all, what, quarks, liptons, electrical charges. That all matter that we percieve is mainly made from spaces that are bigger than the actual matter participles by an astronomically large factor. Then there is the idea that my PC, the silicon switches, are made from the same basic things that I am made from. Also, I believe that it is possible for me to influence the world around us through my actions.

But what is an action? If I have a desire, I then satisfy my desire through action. I move my hand to pick up a bottle, and drink from it. I have no evidence or proof to suggest this is what really happens, I just imagine that is what is happeneing. I could be wrong, I cant say. So what if my desire was to have all the ball bearings fall into the left bucket? Why is it so improbable that I can do it? A human does not have to fully understand a process to be able to change the out come.

Science cannot make a human being, it cannot fully explain the process. But I could make a human being, given the right lady friend...Things dont work like we think they do, and if you think about it, its actually all the truly great people through history(Jesus,Mohammed, Ghandi, the Dali Llama, Einstein, Euripides, I could go on)who have said that thought power can allow you to transend the physical form and become a being of pure energy, and that its all the boring nobodies who poo-poo this claim and say that we are bound to the physical, that logic rules and is immutable , so who do you belive?
