Really? Why do you want one? I mean, don't get me wrong, I love them, and I had one in my parent's attic upto a little while ago (my parents chucked the lot out, along with 100's of games!!!!!!!!!!!!), but unless you are a teacher, then wouldn't it be a load of rubbish compared to newer stuff? I mean it could take about 15 minutes to load a game on a 128 tape. Not nice.... Just seem a little young is all...

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

Why bother. Just go to http://www.worldofspectrum.org/ and play virtually every spectrum game ever made online and for free.

are you guys kidding?

10 years from now, a real system would be hard to find...thus any real spectrum would be worth a lot as a collectible item.

I guess they will be worth a lot of money some day, but I'll bet that the Z80 will be worth more. I have a speccy! I also have a 3DO. £25 sounds like a normal price though for today.

it turns out that my dad went in in the morning and reserved it for me! it was sold to ME!

loading tapes is a hellish nightmare
i haven't got one of the 100 or so games going yet!

i am having trouble finding whether it is 16k or 48k too.

i actually have two now, one of them is a very early and rare 16k too!

Speccy games usually load OK. But there are different types of Speccy, and you might have games for one of the newer versions. I think that there was even an amstrad version, and the games for that don't work on a normal speccy.

Try a different tape recorder. They are very fussy about the sound being clear.
