I realize I posted this in the wrong thread earlier.

This is my first game, I was just fooling around. Its a guy on the high bar - you push on different keys to do different skills. Its kindof like the old track and field or summer games.

There are a lot of keys that can be pushed to do different skills - I am thinking of ways to reduce the number of keys used. Right now off the top of my head you can use - s,o,p,c,t,l,j,e,k - so 8 different keys, i think i can bring it down to about 5 - should I?

I use a black and white drawing for the gymnast - I thought of taking pictures and using a real person - good idea or not?

Gymnasts that play it, think its fun, but interested to see what non-gymnasts think.

Also thought of adding a video element where a real sequence of skills is shown (Avi) and you must duplicate it.

As you move farther along the game, you are taught more skills.

Let me know what you think, if I should invest more time, or if its a piece of poop.

I think this has great potential - quite a unique concept. Couple of points (just personal opinion):
Highlight on screen when you do something. I was quite lost at times

Perhaps a more arcadey version - simpler controls to get you started ,keeping the proper mode as well - like I said I didn't know what I was doing half the time.

But that's just me.

Keep it up

Ok, I made some changes. I added a background, and made it color.

Also I tried to make it a bit easier to understand.

here is the new version

Its better now !
I have always liked gymnastics, I even tried myself years ago and I made a CD-Rom of budo sports couple of years ago and I even sold it about 80 pcs.

If only this sport'game' of yours would be in 3D someday

I'm a gymnast myself, so I'll be playing this as soon as I get home! (I'm at work now) There aren't enough gymnastics games out there!!!

I'll give feedback a bit later!

I only got a second to play it, but it's pretty cool!!

a slightly smoother animation would make the game fantastic!!
I can give you an image-rotating routine if you want one.

Definitely add real-person images. I've played Street Fighter: The Movie before, and the photo-movement was completely first-rate!

No, just because I eat haggis does'nt mean I'm from Scotland!
